    Cassidy Augustinovich, MD

         Where are you from? 
         Tucson, AZ.    

Why did you choose UA Obstetrics and Gynecology?   
I loved my interview day and all of my interactions with faculty/residents! It was clear that they are a close-knit group of people and they made me feel so welcome, which was very important to me. UA also offered the high-level surgical training I was seeking.

What is your favorite thing about living in Tucson?   
Other than being close to my family, Tucson has a fantastic food scene and I missed it so much! I also love the beautiful mountains, unique wildlife and year-round pool season.

What are your interests or hobbies outside of medicine?   
Volunteering with animals, traveling, soccer, swimming

What are your professional interests within obstetrics and gynecology?    
As of now, I am leaning towards becoming a general practitioner at an academic center due to my love of teaching. However, I have not closed the door on pursuing a fellowship.

Favorite way to spend a day off?   
Relaxing at home with my 2 cats!

Wildflower or Viv’s Cafe

Queensland, Australia

    Amanda Goodwin, MD

         Medical School: Creighton University School of Medicine – Phoenix

         Where are you from? 
         Columbus, OH  

Why did you choose UA Obstetrics and Gynecology?   
I chose UA for my residency training because I knew from my interview day the environment was  supportive and caring. After only a few minutes speaking with Dr. Valenzuela I knew this was the place for me. It is a program that cares about you as a person while also making strides towards increasing diversity and inclusion in medicine. I am so happy to be training here!

What is your favorite thing about living in Tucson?   
The food! Every meal I have had here is amazing and I love discovering different restaurants.

What are your interests or hobbies outside of medicine?   
Traveling, taking care of my growing plant collection, & sharing a meal with loved ones.

What are your professional interests within obstetrics and gynecology?    
I anticipate becoming a general practitioner with a focus on family planning and global medicine.

Favorite way to spend a day off?   
Hiking and soaking up some sun!

Favorite restaurant in Tucson?   
Flora’s Flower Market – it’s a market with awesome food and wine, what more can you ask for!

Favorite Vacation Spot?
Anywhere with a beach

Hike the W in patagonia

Favorite Hike or outdoor activity in AZ?
Hiking in Saguaro National Park, I love cacti and the views are breathtaking!

Favorite Arizona getaway?
Flagstaff, AZ it’s a nice break from the heat and an awesome place to ski.

Why did you choose UA Obstetrics and Gynecology?   
The opportunity to serve a diverse patient population in a beautiful place with wonderful people and well-rounded training.

What is your favorite thing about living in Tucson?   
I’m looking forward to 365 days of sunshine.

What are your interests or hobbies outside of medicine?   
Traveling, nature, trying new foods, HBO limited series

What are your professional interests within obstetrics and gynecology?    
Working with vulnerable populations both locally and abroad, family planning, LGBTQ+ care

Favorite way to spend a day off?   
Reading a book with my cats on my lap

Favorite restaurant in Tucson?   
I’ll be on the hunt for the best hole-in-the-wall taco shop

Favorite Vacation Spot?
A tropical beach or a national park

Top "Bucket list" item?
Hit all 7 continents! I still need to visit South America and Antarctica

Favorite Arizona getaway?
I’ve been to the Grand Canyon, which is even better than you think it could be.


    Hannah Woodruff, MD    

 

       Undergrad: University of Vermont
         Medical School: Robert Larner, M.D., College of Medicine at the University of Vermont

         Where are you from? 
         Waterbury, Vermont 

Why did you choose UA Obstetrics and Gynecology?   
Everyone I interviewed with seemed very energetic and passionate about the specialty and in medical education. The program also incorporates training in the areas of OB/GYN that are especially important to me, including strong family planning training and exposure to medication-assisted treatment (MAT). 

What is your favorite thing about living in Tucson?   
This will be my first time living in the Southwest- excited to find out!

What are your interests or hobbies outside of medicine?   
I love hiking and swimming outdoors, journaling and creative writing and anything spooky/horror/Halloween-related. 

What are your professional interests within obstetrics and gynecology?    
I’m interested in a generalist practice that incorporates abortion care and in providing MAT to women with substance use disorder during pregnancy.

Favorite way to spend a day off?   
Sleeping in, getting breakfast, and spending the day outside

Favorite restaurant in Tucson?   
Any place with brunch

Favorite Vacation Spot?
Southern Maine

Run a marathon

Antelope canyon- it’s just as beautiful as the pictures!
