Congratulations to Celia Valenzuela, MD and Emily Budden, MD for representing the University of Arizona Department of OBGYN at the CREOG APGO Annual Meeting in National Harbor, MD last month! Dr. Valenzuela's poster was titled "URM Academic Medicine Pathway Program" and Dr. Budden's poster was titled "Introducing & Evaluating a 'Resident-Medical Student Liaison' OBGYN Clerkship Role." The department is very proud of both of these amazing doctors and their accomplishments!
Holly Bullock, MD, MPH worked with Dr. Budden on her poster and project. The Department created a resident liaison leaser position in 2021, and Dr. Budden served in this founder position. Dr. Budden used qualitative data to understand the medical student clerkship experience where the Resident Liaison position can have an impact to improve their experience, and great to show decrease in reported mistreatment in the pre-and post-intervention groups!
