Congratulations to OB/Gyn Trainees: OB/Gyn resident Stephanie Runke, MD, and medical students Christine Hall, Jeenal Shah and Ismael Miller won first place at the Phoenix Obstetrical & Gynecological Society annual research symposium on April 20 for their research project, “Pre-Operative Tamsulosin Before Minimally Invasive Hysterectomy and Time to Spontaneous Void: A Randomized Controlled Trial.” The multicenter randomized controlled trial was done under the mentorship of Andrea Aguirre, MD, assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology, in conjunction with COM-P resident Lelan McCann, MD. Of the four projects selected for oral presentations, three were research studies from the COM-T Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
