The residency training program at The Arizona Health Sciences Center, Tucson, Arizona, is designed and conducted to provide both an educational and a training experience that produces physicians who are fully competent obstetricians and gynecologists with primary care skills. The specific objectives include a core of primary care knowledge, technical skills, management skills, and development of the consultant.
Within the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, there are three clinical divisions with full-time faculty, including, General Obstetrics and Gynecology, Gynecologic Oncology and Maternal-Fetal Medicine. Within the Division of Maternal-Fetal Medicine there is an accredited fellowship.
There are three participating institutions, all located within five miles of the University of Arizona Medical Center, University Campus.
